Backbrain is operated by Evolution Trading Technologies Pty Ltd (ACN 696 687 564). These are the terms you agree to by using Backbrain. They are intentionally short. If anything here is unclear, write to support@backbrainapp.com.
Backbrain is a habit-support tool. It helps you remember to take medications and lets a person you trust check in on you. It is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice. It is not a substitute for professional medical guidance, diagnosis, or treatment.
Backbrain delivers reminders on a best-effort basis using your device and the relevant operating system. We cannot guarantee that every reminder will fire on time, every time. Your safety with medication is your own responsibility. Always follow your prescribing clinician's instructions and never adjust medication based on what an app tells you.
Backbrain Pro and Family are auto-renewing subscriptions billed via the Apple App Store. Pricing is shown in your local currency and pinned at the equivalent of US$24.99 per year for Pro and US$39.99 per year for Family. You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings. If you cancel, Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple. If you reinstall Backbrain on a new device with the same Apple ID, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall to bring your active subscription across — Apple Sign-In is not required for this.
When you pair with a backbrain partner, you authorise us to send a single push notification to them when you miss a dose. The notification contains your name (or "your friend") and nothing about your medication. Either party can end the partnership at any time, in which case the other party gets a polite notification that the partnership has ended.
Use Backbrain in good faith. Do not pair with someone without their knowing consent. Do not use Backbrain to surveil or harass another person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this principle.
If you are an Australian consumer, you have certain non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits those rights. Subject to those rights, we provide Backbrain on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and Evolution Trading Technologies Pty Ltd submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the LAST UPDATED date at the top of this page.
